A message from Prabhuti Creations:
Our mission is to provide sustainable livelihood for women of villages around the holy city of Varanasi, India in a fair trade way. These under privileged women are provided free training to make handicrafts like hand knotted malas and bracelets of tulsi, rudraksha, white sandalwood and semiprecious stone beads. We are trying to bring smile into their lives, because there’s nothing better than the feeling of helping others. Our malas and bracelets are made with love in Varanasi and sanctified with the holy Ganges waters. Varanasi is the abode of Lord Shiva. Since eternity many saints, yogis, sadhus and rishis have meditated on the banks of the river Ganga in Varanasi for liberation and enlightenment. Those who are spiritually inclined can feel the tranquility of the place and the encompassing divine vibration. Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon in Sarnath, Varanasi. Our malas made here (in Varanasi) are replete with these spiritual vibrations. Each and every quality creation of ours fills you with bliss and has immense healing powers. Merely by looking at a japa mala you connect with divinity.
A portion of the profit goes to the health benefits of these women and imparting education to their children through a social organization Shalayka since 2001. The organization is empowering, educating and uplifting those in a world where opportunity isn't always available.
